Area Sales Manager

Scotland - Central Belt/Borders area.

Objective One:

Use your experience in the hydraulic industry to assist with the continued sales growth of the STAUFF UK Group.

Objective Two:

Utilise your experience in a sales environment or expand your career path from a practical hydraulic engineering environment into a business development/sales role.

Objective Three:

Grab the opportunity to work the appointed territory autonomously while ensuring support through the internal and external sales teams, management team and UK location structure.

Job Summary

• Build rapport with existing customer base and develop existing Area business in line with set goals and objectives relating to margin and revenue performance.

• Increase business with existing customers

• Identify and establish new business opportunities by cold calling and obtaining referrals

• Organise sales visits

• Following-up outstanding quotations

• Working closely with design engineers at OEM level

• Reporting via SAP based CRM system.

• Providing product support to distributors

• Effectively promote and manage the sales of Stauff products within the defined sales area

• Attend trade exhibitions in order to search for new potential business

• Ensure that sales targets are met

• Create sales area forecasts

 

Skills and Experience

· Experience selling Hydraulic / Pneumatic / Fluid Power products and Systems

· Proven experience in a similar technical sales / business development role

· Market knowledge; Mobile, Off-Highway Vehicles, Oil & Gas and Industrial

· Technical ability to deliver bespoke solutions to client problems

· Organisational / time planning skills

· Strong communication / presentation skills

· Demonstrate good commercial awareness

· Proven track record of success.

· Drive, enthusiasm and determination.

· Experience of generating leads, winning accounts and identifying sales opportunities.

· Experience of journey planning and managing area

 

Work Environment:

The successful candidate will ideally be located within the area and will need to have access to a home office. This is a field-based role and requires someone who is comfortable spending the maximum amount of time in front of customers. They will be required to visit the Aberdeen office as well as other STAUFF locations intermittently for meetings and training.
